01 Cellular Jail

Cellular Jail​

Early it was  known as Kala Pani Jail it was constructed in 1986 by British to exile political pensioner. Vinayak Damodar Savarkar knows as Veer Savarkar was sent in this prison in 1910 later released in 1921. A statue of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was built in Cellular Jail in his memory. This is one of the main tourist spots in Port Blair you must visit during your Andaman Tour.As a tourist, you must explore the Jail gallery which has various photograph during the war of independence all these things make Cellular Jail one of the Best Places In Port Blair you must visit on your Andaman Tour.

02 Ross Island

Ross Island: It was called the Paris of East and it was named after a British surveyor Sir Daniel Ross, but recently its name has changed. Now it called as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island. This island was developed as early as in 1788. This was the Administrative capital of the British in Andaman & Nicobar Island. On 10 March 1858 first group of freedom fights has arrived in Cellular Jail under the control of Dr James Pattison Walker from Calcutta in the East India Company’s steam warship ‘Serunamis’. They were treated in the most humiliating way as they were chained and collared around their neck and got touched by the British .

How To Reach:This island is 2 km away from Port Blair city to go there you have to catch a ferry from Rajiv Gandhi water sports complex it will take 20 min to reach there.

Recommendation:You must reach here by 9 AM so that you can spend more time here.Just go and walk around the Island various things to see here like an Old Church,Printing Press all these things are during British Period

03 North Bay Island

North Bay Island: This is the perfect destination while your Andaman Tour for those who love to explore underwater life. It offers you alluring coral reefs and panoramic landscapes. All these things make North Bay Island one of the perfect destination among travel buff. Here you can spend a whole day enthralling water sports activities like Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Sea Walking.

North Bay Island is situated 4 KM away from Port Blair this island is famous for its magnificent view of underwater coral reefs. Although if you are not a fan of Water Sports,Still it has many things to offer you can relax in near sea beach and can take a sunbath.

How To Reach: You can catch a ferry from Rajiv Gandhi water sports complex. You have to per book the ferry ticket.

03 Corbyn’s Cove Beach

04 Chatham Island

Chatham Island: This Island is 2 Km away from the Port Blair, Lt. Archibald Blair initially formed a colony here in 1783. In 1853 when British decide to settle their base in Andaman Island, In 1883 they build  Chatham, Saw Mill, to meet the local requirement of saw and timber for construction work. This place is deficiently worth to visit here you can see some of the oldest pieces of machinery during British time.

How To Reach: It is just 7 KM away from bazaar.

Timings: 9:00 – 16:00 (Mon – Fri) | 9:00 – 14:30 (Sat)

05 Samudrika Marine Museum

 Samudrika Marine Museum: This is on popular sight seen destination in Port Blair, You can explore this while your city tour. This museum is run by the Indian Navy to spread awareness about the ocean and marine life. Here you can see a big inbuilt aquarium which features various colourful species of fishes which are found around the Andaman Islands. Once you come outside of the Museum you can locate skeleton of a baby blue whale which was kept outside that was washed ashore on the Andaman Islands.
